Rocking the World Wide Web...

Well, The Satellites started out as a sort of bluesy band, but in the few months we have been together, our style has evolved quite rapidly. We don't wanna pigeon-hole ourselves in a corner with genres, but we draw influence from many things (rap, metal, rap-metal), and we don't limit ourselves to a genre when making something up. If we like it, we keep it. We formed one day when there was no school...we had a jam session and it led to more and more, and now we practice a few times a week. We are from Herrin, IL and are all students at HHS...Look around, and have a ball (and biscuit).

P.S.-I would like some feedback, be it positive or negative, about anything you see/hear. Thanks. dylanfan@musician.org

News
3-19-03: This site is born. We practiced today.

3-30-03: We recorded a two song demo at D&S. (Johnny's All Right and Far from Perfect) It was a very fun and educational experience, and I think things went well. My vocals sucked at first, but i worked my way from sucky up to bad as the night progressed. It took like 6 hours, but it was fun. Matt and Nathan both won McFlurries from McDonald's on their game pieces. Congrats to them.

4-13-03: I added mp3 versions of Far from Perfect and Johnny's All Right...now you can download them from this very page.

5-10-03: Played at a battle of the bands in Highland. Our friends Cat, Jump! lent us most of their equipment and played well, but had to undeservedly settle for second place. We brought along quite an audience, and it was our first show, so all things considered, we did well. We didn't place, but...

6-6-03: After a month-long hiatus, the site is being updated again. Check out the new pictures, please.

12-5-03: Wow, it has been a while. I doubt anyone has been here in a long time, but I hope to change that. Maybe I'll start regularly updating this thing again. Some big news is that sometime, I don't know when, we switched our drummer to Lance Ridgeway. We are in the midst of recording 3 new tracks at D&S, and we have a self-made 5 track demo.
